What teachers say about this end of the year activity:
End of the year can be tough for 8th graders ! This was a great resource for our mornings when the kids would come in and have something to focus on!
The students letters to themselves were funny, serious, and eye opening for some. It required them to check themselves as they gear up for high school next year.
It is so difficult to keep students engaged that last week of school, especially 8th graders who are leaving to high school and are just done. This is a great time for reflection of the past and their big next step in education. I like to give students a variety of activities to chose from those last few days, and this one is a big hit. It really gets them thinking and I love seeing their reflections. I will definitely keep this activity in the mix for future years!
My students are enjoying this resource so much! They have been so engaged in their learning with this resource and they are excited to learn and continue to ask what they will learn next. I have used this resource with multiple groups and have seen engaged and excited students time after time. I will continue to use this resource to help my students gain understanding in all kinds of skills that will help them in the future. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful resource!
I loved this end of year letter to themselves. I'm saving them and handing out to them the day they graduate.
